What is Ahoihoi ?
Ahoihoi is software for the Windows PC platform
created by Versoworks that is built on top of the Open AIM
platform created by AOL. It allows you to communicate over the U.S. based version of the AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) network exclusively. Ahoihoi can be used
as an alternative to the official AIM software for the Windows PC platform. You can read more about custom clients by visiting the
AIM Enabled page.
What's with the name ?
The name comes from the original term coined by
Alexander Graham Bell to greet someone on the telephone. In more recent times, the term has been revived by
Mr. Burns on The Simpsons.
What requirements does Ahoihoi have ?
Ahoihoi requires at least Windows 2000 with SP4 or newer and Internet Explorer v6 or newer.
Is Ahoihoi freeware ?
Ahoihoi is available in two flavours; a free and a pay version. They contain the same feature set, only the free version contains advertising to support it. A single licence for the pay version costs $9.95 USD. A license
comes with 12 months of free updates and support, making it an exceptional
value. If you have a Versoworks account,
